The Calne Bike Meet is one of the largest free-to-attend motorcycle events in the UK, bringing thousands of bikers, families, and enthusiasts into the heart of Wiltshire every summer.

It takes a massive effort to bring this incredible event to life year after year. Behind the scenes, the organising committee works tirelessly, but we simply couldn’t run a safe, vibrant, and smooth event without our dedicated volunteers—the Friends of Calne Bike Meet (FOCBM).

What Does a Friend of Calne Bike Meet Do?

As a Friend of Calne Bike Meet, you can get involved in a variety of hands-on roles leading up to, during, and right after event day. Whether you can spare a couple of hours or the entire weekend, every bit of help counts.

Here are some of the key ways you can support:

  • Site Set-Up & Take-Down: Helping lay out event signage, set up gazebos, mark out parking zones, and clear down the town centre after the event finishes.
  • Marshalling & Visitor Guidance: Assisting with bike parking, helping control pedestrian traffic flow, answering questions from visitors, and keeping the site safe and welcoming.
  • Merchandise & Information Desk: Selling official Calne Bike Meet t-shirts, badges, and merchandise, or helping answer general enquiries at the main information point.
  • General Committee Support: Supporting committee members with administrative tasks, logistical moves on the day, and keeping vendors and caterers informed.
