Ride Out
Each year, the end of the Bike Meet is marked with a ride out that passes through the town centre and takes in the scenic routes around Calne, Avebury, Royal Wootton Bassett and Lyneham.
Joining the ride out
To join the ride out, you will need to book a ticket, either online in advance (before 24th July), or on the official stall on the day. Tickets cost £5 and you will receive a wristband which you can attach to yourself or your bike. Numbers are limited, so book early to avoid disappointment.
You will need to make your way to the Tesco Superstore to join the ride out at about 4:45pm on Saturday 26th July. Our Ride Out leader and the volunteers from Unity Support Riders will show you where to join the group.
Please note that, because the route takes the group along a number of national speed limit roads, you will need to be riding a 125cc or larger bike to make sure you are not separated from the group.
Watching the ride out
If you want to see the ride out, come to the centre of town, near the library and the town hall to see the bikes pass through the town centre at about 5pm. Riders should reach Avebury around 5:15pm, Royal Wootton Bassett around 5:45 – 6pm and Lyneham around 6 – 6:15pm. Timings are approximate and depend on traffic conditions and number of riders on the day.

How long is the ride out?
The route is about 35 miles long, and takes around an hour and a half to complete, slightly slower than you might ride it alone to make sure everyone stays together.
