A Legend in the Making: The Calne Story

What makes Calne Bike Meet™ a staple in the motorcycling calendar? It’s simple: we take over the town. Unlike track-based shows, our event unfolds right on the open public roads of the town centre, creating an atmosphere you won’t find anywhere else.

Best of all? It’s completely free for everyone—riders and locals alike—to enjoy.

From Humble Beginnings to National Mainstay

It all started back in 2000. What began as a small gathering—dreamed up by two local riders and two charity organizers from the Calne Rotary—didn’t stay “small” for long.

Word spread through the biking community like a wide-open throttle. Over the last two decades, we’ve grown from a local meet into a major national event. Today, the meet is run by a dedicated team of volunteers who work year-round to bring together the best clubs, bands, and traders for a day that truly has something for everyone.

Riding for a Reason

We believe a great day out should also be a force for good. As a strictly not-for-profit event, every penny we raise (after the bills are paid) is donated to charities that support both the biking community and our local neighbors.

Want a say in where the money goes? We take charity suggestions at our Annual General Meeting (AGM). It’s an open public meeting, and you’re more than welcome to pull up a chair, hear our progress, and see how your support makes a real-world difference.

Lock It In

If it’s the last Saturday of July, you know where the party is.

Whether you’re coming for the engineering, the live music, or just the legendary Wiltshire welcome, make sure Calne is marked in your calendar. We’ll see you at the next one for a day of great bikes and even better company.

See you at the start line!
